Luk Hup Batt Fatt (LHBF) is founded by Chen Hsi Yi and based upon Taoist principles. The entire system is a way of life based on living in harmony with the universe. As such, all its philosophies, concepts, patterns, weapons and meditations are fluid, dynamic and effortless.

LHBF is therefore softer, slower and more difficult to understand and train than any comparable internal style like Tai Chi. It is also the oldest and most advanced of internal styles, being the predecessor to styles like Tai Chi, Ba Gua, and Xing Yi Fist.

LHBF has for over a thousand years represented the highest wisdom and virtues of Taoist-based Chinese martial arts. Unfortunately, very few people in the world today know of this style because it has been a closely kept secret. Those who mastered the art have taught only a chosen few.

The meditation (standing, lying, and moving) techniques are widely considered as the most advanced in martial arts history. The open hand forms of LHBF are the most fluid and powerful internal forms among all styles of Chinese kung fu. It is reputed that practitioners of this style enjoy a level of health, wisdom, and longevity akin to the immortals.
